My future boss

I am just back from Genova, after attending the kick-off meeting of the grant paying for my post-doc. In short, I feel good. I am much more confident about my decision. Before this meeting, my motivation was mostly based on a vague feeling---though of course inspired by others' advices---but now certainly I feel more confident after I met my future boss.

He is caring. He is happy for having me. He does his best to make me feel happy. This is invaluable to me. Just consider all what I have gone through during my PhD. He told me that I can work from home, meaning that I can stay more with my husband. He said that I can go to whatever conference I want in a year, even for presenting my PhD work. He had read and prepared a slide about Norooz, the beginning of the Persian new year. When I thanked him for that, he said that it was the least thing he could do for me. He care about my interests. After he noticed that I do not eat meat, immediately talked about a mosque close to the university and the fact that I can reach it easily. Even he mentioned the mosque in his presentation, where he showed a picture of the university and a mosque appearing behind the building. When he saw that I bought flowers from an Indian on street to help the poor, he later mentioned this as a good deed, using similar words as I had used that night! This is incredible. My wish was accepted by the universe. Thank you Universe!
