15th (1492): Christoph Columb voyage to the east, but not Japan or China, instead reaching the Americas, more specifically reaching Hispaniola island in the Caribbean: the place where two great empires existed, mostly Asian immigrants who had moved thousands years ago.
16th: Colombian Exchange: Indians got microbes from Europeans and Africans, the population decreased from 100 milion to 20 milion: smallpox; Europeans got syphilis, a venereal disease. They exchanged floras. Europeans brought corps, pigs (Barbecue!), and cattle to Americas, and brought back tomato and potato, and gold and silver! Brazil-wood fleets, deforestation of Brazil, many sheep for more voyage, discovery, and conquest.
The colonization of the new world altered the balance of forces around the world because: access to American commodities gave Europeans more resources to trade with the East.
The words of "Fray Bartolome de las casas" led the Spanish crown to declare that the purpose of the colonization and the conquest was to convert the Indians to the christian faith.
Between 16th-19th Century (Silver and Slaves):Moving about 12 million Africans as slave to the America, mostly to Brazil, then Mexico, and Southern North America. Exploiting 85% silver of the world from the Americas.
17th-18th: The emergence of Mercantilism and organizations. Amsterdam Stock Exchange the first stock organization in Europe. The Baroque was characterized by the mixture of people and a preference for allusions and unusual combinations.
18th: The first financial worldwide crisis, the Mercantilist war, in Europe;
in 1720s, the war for getting the power of important trade trails.
